Lost Digital Camera--Pictures PRICELESS--HELP!!!Mardi Gras Newbie, Lost Camera--Please Help!!! While attending a Covington parade on Mardi Gras Day (2/20), my girlfriend (at her her first Mardi Gras) lost a Sony digital camera (DSC-W50) just as the parade was ending (about 12:30 PM). Although the camera is rather new, we are solely interested in the photographs that were being stored on the memory card. We had some fabulous reunion photos involving friends we'd not seen in 20 years along with other great photos of friends and family. Please help us to get these photos back. I have a feeling that this whole thing will be an interesting story when the photos and possibly the camera with the photos are returned. We are offering a $100 reward for the pictures (CD or memory card) with or without the camera. Also, in the event the camera holder wants to remain anonymous, I'm willing to give an address where the CD or memory card can be mailed or perhaps he/she could leave the: camera (with memory card) or memory card or CD containing the full resolution images and they could: call, write or email to notify us where to get the images and/or camera. Background Info: Robert. I grew up in New Orleans (actually Harahan); yet, I live in Houston now (since 1994). I'm the one that has lost the reunion pictures and other fabulous pictures. Also, part of the motivation for the trip, was to expose my girlfriend (Nancy) to Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras 2007 was her first experience and I'd captured some wonderful pictures of her enjoying the festivities. Nancy. This is my girlfriend that was attending Mardi Gras for the very first time. She is a native Houstonian and a sweet lady. She is absolutely devastated that she lost the camera. In part, she's hurt because she lost a camera that she can not afford to replace (even-though it is used for her work). Also, she feels the pain of losing ALL of her Mardi Gras 2007 pictures--her first time. Yet, most of her tears are related to her letting me down. She knows that we can never re-create the photos taken as I met with my child-hood friends after so many years had passed. The Camera. Sony, Silver, Cybershot, DSC-W50, NO CAMERA BAG (the camera fell out of Nancy's pocket), there were approximately 166 to 188 pictures on the card, we have the serial number and it is registered with Sony. Also, since the camera fell from her pocket, the camera could have been damaged in some way--cosmetically or otherwise. Location of Loss. We were standing about 100 feet South of The Tap Room on Columbia Street (near the Tap Room Patio) on the East (or Tap Room side) of the street--432 N COLUMBIA ST. At about 12:30 PM, we got on a motorcycle that we'd rented (I was trying to show her a good time) so that we could attend the festivities in Orleans parish. We were heading South on US 190... heading to the Causeway, when the loss was discovered. We stopped near the Times Picayune office. We immediately went back to the parade area. By this time many parade goers had cleared and no one had any knowledge of the missing camera. We quickly made a flier, then another one, and spent four hours distributing the flier and talking to many local business owners and beer drinkers. The next day, we made a better flier and spent another four to five hours pounding the pavement. Mailing Address: 12700 FM 1960 West, #14203, Houston, TX 77065, 281-414-9337 PLEASE HELP US TO GET OUR PICTURES BACK--THESE PICTURES ARE PRICELESS!!! THANKS!!! |
