While not quite the stuff of an Amber Alert, Saugus police are hoping the public might help restore half a dozen lawn ornaments to their rightful owners.
Spirited away from area front lawns in late May - police suspect by members of the Saugus High School senior class for a senior prank - police reclaimed a bevy of lawn ornaments from Saugus High last weekend, after a startled member of the janitorial staff called local authorities to report finding the ill-gotten decorations spread about the school's campus.
A joke's a joke, said the Saugus Police, but they are eager to see the various statues back in their rightful place on residents' lawns, and not occupying a corner of the police station's garage.
